Chad's Photography Debut

We bought a new camera this past summer and Chad is putting it to good use. He decided that we needed to take some "artistic" pregnant photos. It's beautiful here in Lawrence! All of the leaves are changing colors and the trees are beginning to loose their leaves. Just the right atmosphere for a little creativity!
I have to be honest...I felt a little silly laying in the leaves as people passed by and stared, wondering why there was a pregnant girl laying in the leaves. Ha! But, all in all, I think Chad's photography debut is a roaring success! It makes me excited for all the adorable pictures he is going to take of our baby.

Baby Shopping Spree

So, thanks to the generosity of our family we were able to go on a baby shopping spree! Chad and I made a list of all of our "must-haves" and set out to buy some things that we needed (and wanted) for our new baby. Chad mapped out our shopping trip and we were on our way to Kansas City. I was afraid that Chad might faint when he saw the final totals of what we spent, but he did surprisingly well. We filled up our Accord to the brim. I even had to sit in the back seat to make room for our new glider. It made for a good laugh!
When we got home and brought everything into the house, it all of a sudden hit us that we're having a baby! Somehow, having all this stuff in our house made everything a little more real.
Chad was like a little boy on Christmas morning! He was so excited about the things we bought. I got a good laugh as I watched Chad check out all of our purchases. He wanted to know how everything worked. He proceeded to read the instruction manuals and test everything out. What a great dad he's going to be!

Our Florida Trip

We went to visit our family in Florida in the beginning of October and got to see our two newest nephews (as well as the rest of the family). While we were there, they gave us a baby shower. We ate well, laughed much and came home with lots of baby stuff. Since we didn't have anything for our newest addition, this was a big help. They were very generous to us and we are excited to go shopping and put their kindness to good use!

KU

Following the BYU tradition, we decided to take a picture of Chad by a University of Kansas sign. Chad's loved his time at KU so far. He is working hard, but is up to the challenge. The people in his program are becoming our family away from home. They have been wonderful to us! They are a tight-knit group and enjoy working and relaxing together. Chad has been involved in friendly competitions of frisbee golf lately with his classmates. From what I hear, he gives them a run for their money on the golf course!

This is another "prego" picture of me from the beginning of October while we were up on KU campus taking pictures of all the buildings.

Some nice Photos of Lawrence

We decided to add some photos of the KU campus here...fall is a nice time of year as you can see. I didn't actually take the arial photo, but Amy and I drove around the campus today and took the others. We thought it would be fun to let you see the campus.

Welcome to the Blogosphere

We have been procrastinating creating a blog for a while....but the time has come to let you see some photos of Amy (looking rather pregnant) and update everyone on the happenings in Kansas. We have really enjoyed living here so far. Lawrence is "the nicest place in kansas" according to many, and we like how green everything is here. We intend to make this blog a collaborative affair, so you will probably see posts from both of us. For now, I'll just upload these photos and write more later.....
