Baby Push Ups

Emily is beginning to be mobile. She has learned how to push herself around backwards. She has also begun to do what we like to call "baby push ups". She is so strong and so determined we are sure that she will be crawling soon. It's time to "baby proof" the house!

I know that this is not the most flattering picture
of Emily that I have ever posted...
I just liked it because it showed her cute front teeth!

Florida

We took a trip to visit my family at the beginning of June. My parents and sisters had seen Emily, but it was Emily's debut to the rest of my relatives. Here's a bunch of pictures from our trip.

Today's Photo Shoot

Emily will be 6 months old next week. She just gets more adorable every day. Miss Emily has been teething for a while. Besides biting and drooling on everything in sight, she is coming up with her own way of doing things. Lately, if you put a pacifier in her mouth, it's out and turned around in her mouth within seconds to be used for teething. She now officially has 2 bottom teeth (which she always seems to hide with her tongue)! She can roll over from her tummy to her back. Since our trip to Florida, she can sit up by herself. (She tips over occasionally, thus the pillows.) Emily has a real laugh and finds joy in most everything. She is also getting vocal about her opinions!

Here's a funny story. Emily rolled over for the first time when I was at work. She rolled over twice for Chad that day! When I got home...nothing! A couple of days later, she finally showed me her new trick. I've only seen her roll over a few times.

Yesterday Emily was having some "tummy time" on the floor. She was grabbing for the pacifier. I decided that I would make her work for it and roll over to get it. Clearing all the other toys out of the way, I placed the pacifier above her just out of arms reach. She was reaching for it. I said, "roll over". She stretched out her arm and just barely tipped the pacifier with her finger. It flipped right in front of her.
That was luck! I decided to try again. This time I put it out of arms reach to the side of her. I was sure that she'd have to roll over to get it. She looked at me, reached out and pulled the blanket that the pacifier was on towards her and picked it up. Smart kid! HA!

Our friends the Becks gave Emily this darling outfit. When I put it on her she looked so cute, I had to take a few pictures. Enjoy!
