Birthday Party Fun

Emily has been missing all her friends in Kansas, has started to make some new friends here in Rhode Island. She went to her first birthday party here the other day and had a blast. The whole family was invited to attend. It was a Princess Party. They had a Princess jumping castle, pinata, and other fun crafts. She had a wonderful time, but mostly enjoyed the company of her new friend, Zuleika. It was a fun day!

Annie especially loved the jumping castle!

Swing Emily!

Sweet success...the loot!

Children's Museum

During the summer the Providence Children's Museum has several Family Fun Fridays. On these nights it is free entry from 5-8pm. Chad and I took the girls last Friday night. They had a great time!

The Water Room
Our girls LOVE the water, so this was the perfect room for them.
Both of them had such a fun time splashing and playing with the plastic balls.

The Toddler Room
This room is great! It's for kids 4 and under. They have animal costumes for the kids to dress up in, a climbing tree and slide, a seesaw, bridge and crawling tunnel with fake rocks. The kids love it!

The Restaurant/Store
This is Emily's favorite exhibit. She loves pretending to take your order, make the food and sell it to you in her "restaurant".
Side note: We love her restaurant. The food is great, but it's a little pricey. Everything costs "$40".

The Construction Site
The girls love getting dressed up and driving the crane and truck.

Finger Paint Fun

The Primary President has all families of the new Sunbeams present a poster (made by the child) that introduces their child to the Primary during opening exercises. We decided to have some fun with it and let Emily do some finger painting. This is her making a BIG mess! Annie enjoyed watching all the fun and making a BIG mess of her own! (She was teething on a frozen purple ice pop. She bit right through it. I guess that's what those big front teeth can do! Ha!)

15 months

Annie- 15 months

Our little Annie is growing up before our eyes. She is 15 months and has become quite her own little person. She is delightfully playful and always ready for a good time. She loves to laugh and is a bit of a tease (in a playful way). She initiates playing chase by running off and watching to see if you are following.

She loves her big sister, Emily and wants to do EVERYTHING that she does. She is not shy about letting her wants and wishes known. Emily and Annie play a lot more together these days and have a wonderful time playing "mermaid" and performing princess plays.
Annie has a sweet nature. She loves to cuddle and give hugs and kisses. She, too, is a daddy's girl and wants to be with Chad all the time. She loves her mommy too and gives me lots of loves.

She obsessed with babies (real babies as well as dolls). Anytime she sees one she can be heard saying, "Ba-by". She seems to always have a doll in hand wherever she goes. If you keep an eye on her you can see her taking care of her doll, giving it hugs and kisses. It is very sweet.

Anytime there is music Annie is dancing, usually turning in circles with a huge grin on her face. She also sings along in her soft sweet voice. It's darling!

Annie is tough. Our new house has mostly wooden floors, so not much padding. Lately, she has been falling a lot and walking into walls and other furniture. She just falls down and hops back up again without a peep.

She is mastering smiling on demand. Her posed smile is what my dad always referred to as a "natural" smile (mostly it's an adorable scrunched up face! Ha!)

Breakfast With A Smile

I made eggs for breakfast this morning while Chad was getting ready for work. Emily came up to me and said, "Mom, let's surprise dad and make a smiley face for dinner" (she still calls breakfast dinner). She decided on the fruit we should use to make the perfect smiley face. Chad loved it! Breakfast with a smile...what a great way to start the day!

Emily the Magician

Emily loves to watch the cartoon, Caillou. Yesterday she watched one of the episodes where Caillou is a magician. She decided she needed to be a magician and do some magic tricks. She said she needed a hat, cape and a wand. We didn't have a top hat so we settled for her Minnie Mouse hat (I told her, "There's magic at Disney right?!... she agreed-ha!), her old baby blanket with a Tinkerbell hair clip, and her star pointer wand. She was pretty happy about the whole thing. Emily got into position and said, "Abracandabra make (insert name)disappear!", "Abracandabra make (insert name) reappear!". It was very cute!

Water Park Fun

We made our first visit to the water park yesterday. There are several to choose from in Providence and they are all free to the public. The sun was hot, the water was freezing (Annie was shivering) but we had a great time! We survived with only one small injury... a little boy ran into Annie and she got a little scraped up. She was very good about he whole thing, though. We hope to try them all before the summer is through! Hot sunny days= lots of water park fun for us!

Team Sunbeam T-Shirt

Emily has LOVED Primary ever since she started as a Sunbeam in January. I owe much of this to the fabulous teachers that she has had over the past year. They have truly magnified their callings, to say the least. Not only have they prepared and taught gospel lessons in an enriching and fun way, but they have always gone the extra mile to let Emily know how much they love her.

Emily received a package in the mail last week from her first Sunbeam teacher, Sister Christensen. The outside was decorated with darling fairy princess stickers. Inside the package was a very sweet note to Emily and a "Team Sunbeam t-shirt". Even though Emily was changed to another class for the last several months of being in Lawrence, she still thought to include her by sending her a class shirt! Isn't it darling?! She loves it! Thanks so much Sister Christensen for being so thoughtful and kind to Emily.
